General Questions

What is CookieHub?

CookieHub is a cookie and online tracking consent management platform that helps websites and apps comply with global privacy regulations, including the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

How does CookieHub work?

CookieHub works by providing website and app owners with an easy-to-use interface to create and manage consent banners, manage user consent preferences, and automatically block or allow cookies based on user preferences.

Is CookieHub GDPR compliant?

Yes, CookieHub is GDPR compliant. It provides all the tools necessary for website and app owners to obtain and manage user consent, and is regularly updated to ensure compliance with the latest privacy regulations.

Is CookieHub CCPA/CPRA compliant?

Yes, CookieHub is CCPA/CPRA compliant. It provides website and app owners with the ability to comply with the CCPA/CPRA's opt-out of sale requirements, as well as to manage user consent preferences.

Is CookieHub only for GDPR compliance, or does it cover other cookie laws as well?

CookieHub is a versatile solution designed for websites that need to comply with cookie regulations worldwide, not just those related to GDPR, CCPA, or LGPD.

Many recent privacy and cookie laws draw significant inspiration from GDPR, especially the sections concerning the processing of personal data. In countries with stringent cookie and data processing regulations, obtaining clear consent before setting cookies capable of tracking user behavior or identifying individuals is a common requirement. Additionally, websites must offer users the ability to revoke their consent as easily as it was initially granted.

CookieHub fulfills these requirements precisely. When implemented correctly, no cookies are set until the user has provided consent, and users retain the option to revoke consent at any time. CookieHub also handles the automatic removal of cookies associated with categories for which consent hasn't been granted and keeps a record of consent actions, which is essential in some countries.

Is my website fully GDPR compliant if I use CookieHub?

CookieHub is a robust Cookie Consent Management Platform (CMP) that you can seamlessly integrate into your website. When correctly implemented, CookieHub effectively addresses the GDPR's specific requirements related to tracking cookies and user consent. This is a significant step toward achieving GDPR compliance for your website.

However, it's important to note that GDPR encompasses a broad spectrum of privacy and security-related regulations beyond just cookie consent. While CookieHub plays a pivotal role in meeting specific GDPR cookie-related obligations, your compliance journey may require additional measures to address other aspects of the GDPR, such as data protection, security, and data subject rights. It is advisable to conduct a comprehensive GDPR compliance assessment for your website to ensure adherence to all relevant provisions.

Does CookieHub affect the speed of my website?

Any external services integrated into your website can potentially have an impact on its speed. However, CookieHub has been optimized to minimize its effect on your website's performance. We've taken measures to ensure that the widget's impact on your website's speed is kept to a minimum.

What are the IP addresses of the cookie crawlers?

CookieHub operates a network of crawlers that scan active domains every 30 days to verify the website's use of tracking services and check CookieHub's configuration. In some cases, you may need to add these cookie scanners to a whitelist or use their IP addresses to prevent bot protections from blocking the scanners.

You can access a dynamic list of scanner IP addresses here:

Furthermore, if you have a paid subscription, CookieHub can automatically detect the language based on your website's language settings, the user's browser language, or URL prefixes, ensuring seamless multilingual support for your website's visitors.
