Regions & Policy frameworks

Policy frameworks

Policy frameworks control the functionality of the cookie notice and preference dialogs and what happens when users allow or deny certain categories, services or individual consent.

Currently you can choose between two frameworks: CookieHub and CookieHub + CCPA

CookieHub

This is the default policy framework and allows users to allow or reject cookie categories. External services setting cookies will be allowed or blocked based on the user consent.

CookieHub + CCPA

In addition to the default policy, CookieHub will load the IAB Tech Lab’s US Privacy String which communicates signals regarding consumer privacy and choice under US privacy regulation.

When selected, you will be able to add a Do not sell button to the cookie notice and allow the users to opt out of sale of data.

Consent type

Used to configure the default behaviour of external services setting cookies prior to consent. Currently, you can select two options: Explicit Consent / opt-in and Implied Consent / opt-out.

Explicit Consent / opt-in

No external services managed by CookieHub are loaded prior to consent. Users will have to consent before the services are loaded.

Implied Consent / opt-out

External services managed by CookieHub are loaded prior to consent and will continue to load until the user has rejected the associated category. When rejected, CookieHub will remove any cookies related to the categories rejected.

Regions

A region can be a country, US state or a group of countries by continent or the cookie/privacy requirements. You can configure different behaviour and consent method for each region in the CookieHub dashboard.

In addition to countries and US states, you can select Europe, Cookie laws and Cookie laws (extended).
