When geolocation is enabled, the cookie consent dialog is only shown in countries where GDPR or other cookie laws are in place. This will limit the distraction for the users located in countries where it's not required by law to get consent while making the web site fully GDPR compliant.
When cookie laws don't apply, all services or tags configured managed by CookieHub will be executed normally.
How does it work?
When CookieHub is loaded and the visitor has not configured cookie settings previously, it connects to one of our servers which detects the country code based on the IP address. The process is really fast and not noticeable by end users.
No data is stored expect access log for performance and security purposes. IP addresses are anonymized before being logged to make sure we don't collect any personal data.
