How to get the Consent log

The Consent Log tab allows you to download a record of all consent actions collected for your domain. This log helps you track when users granted or denied consent to specific cookie categories on your website.

The consent log is an important tool for demonstrating compliance with privacy regulations such as the GDPR, as it provides documented evidence of user consent.

Before you begin

The consent log feature must be enabled in your domain’s Settings tab. If it’s not enabled, no consent actions will be recorded, and the log will be empty.

How to download the consent log

  1. Go to the Domain section of the CookieHub dashboard.
  2. Select the domain you want to view.
  3. Click on the Consent Log tab.
  4. Select the date range you want to download.
  5. Click Create request.
  6. Once the request is ready, download the CSV file containing your consent log entries.

What’s in the consent log

The CSV file includes:

  • Timestamp – The date and time when the consent action was recorded.
  • Consent ID and token – Unique identifiers for the consent entry.
  • Hash – A hash of the consent data for integrity verification.
  • Consent states – User’s choices for each cookie category.
  • Referrer URL – The page where the consent was given.
  • IP address – The IP address of the user.
  • Country code – The country detected from the IP address.
  • User agent – Browser and device details.
  • Version information – Banner or widget version used when collecting consent.
