Domain Categories

The Categories section in a domain’s settings lets you configure the default behavior for all cookie categories shown in the CookieHub consent banner. These defaults can be overridden for specific regions in the Regional settings section or in the Customize dialog.

For each category, you can configure:

• Checked by default – Sets whether the category’s checkbox is selected before the user consents.

  Used for tracking cookies – If enabled, CookieHub will override the “Checked by default” setting and set it to unchecked when the user’s browser has a Do Not Track flag enabled.

  Visibility – Controls whether the category is shown:

  • Always visible
  • Always hidden
  • Only show if any cookie is assigned to it
• Consent type – By default, the consent type follows the region’s settings. You can override this to always use Implied consent / opt-out for the category.

These settings determine how each category is displayed and behaves in the cookie consent banner for your domain.
