GTM tags not firing or firing incorrectly

Tags may fail to fire when consent is not configured properly in GTM.

Common scenarios & fixes:

CookieHub tag is not firing:

• Publish GTM container after adding the tag.
• Do not add Additional Consent Checks to the CookieHub tag.

Google tags firing without consent:

• Enable Consent Mode in the CookieHub GTM tag.
• Set default consent for Analytics and Marketing to Denied.

Google tags firing in preview mode:

• Normal behavior with Consent Mode. Tags will not collect data until consent is granted.

Tags marked “Still running”:

• Happens when consent not granted. Once consent is given, status changes to Succeeded.

Tags without built-in Consent Mode not firing:

• Add Additional Consent in GTM and link them to the correct category.
