How to demonstrate user consent using the consent log
If an authority requests proof of user consent, you can locate the consent record in CookieHub’s consent log. To find the record, you need the unique user token and timestamp.
Steps to retrieve a consent record
- Ask the user to open your website and click the CookieHub settings icon.
- In the settings, go to the Cookie Declaration tab and locate the Your choices section.
- Request the user to provide the Your ID token and the date and time of their consent.
- Log in to the CookieHub dashboard and select the relevant domain.
- Navigate to the Consent Log tab.
- Create a consent log request for the date provided by the user and wait for processing.
- Once processed, find the request in the Consent log requests list and click Download.
Open the downloaded ZIP file in a text editor or import it into a tool like Excel.
Use the search function to find the token provided by the user. This entry includes:
- Cookie categories accepted or declined
- Timestamp and consent action details
Important note
The consent log does not store personal data. You must obtain the unique token and timestamp from the user to identify their record.
