Why are some cookies not detected by the scanner?

The cookie scanner crawls your website and collects cookies, but there are several reasons why some cookies may not appear in the scan report.

Crawl limits based on plan

The scanner crawls a limited number of pages per scan, depending on your subscription:

  • Free plan: 50 pages
  • Basic plan: 100 pages
  • Business plan: 1,000 pages

Upgrading your plan increases coverage and helps detect more cookies.

Possible reasons for missing cookies

  • The page where the cookie is set is not accessible

The scanner follows internal links to discover pages. If the page is not linked from your site’s navigation or other pages, it will not be scanned.

  • Protected sections of the site

Pages requiring authentication (e.g., login areas) are not crawled unless you provide credentials in Crawler Settings.

  • User interactions are required

Cookies set only after completing actions, such as submitting forms or reaching a payment page, are not detected because the scanner does not simulate these interactions.

How to improve cookie detection

  • Exclude repetitive dynamic pages (e.g., /blog/) to allow more unique pages to be scanned
  • Enable Include localStorage and sessionStorage in the Scans tab under Crawler Settings
  • Use authentication options in Crawler Settings to access protected areas
  • Consider manual testing for cookies that require user actions
