The cookie scanner automatically scans your website to detect cookies, assign them to the correct categories, and keep your cookie declaration up to date. It ensures your site remains compliant with data privacy regulations.

How it works

When you create a domain in the CookieHub dashboard, the scanner crawls your website and collects details about the cookies in use, such as name, expiration, hostname, and path. Each cookie is assigned to a category using CookieHub’s cookie database. Cookies that are not in the database are placed in the Uncategorized category for review.

The scanner runs every month to detect any changes and updates your cookie declaration automatically.

Reports and notifications

After each scan, a report is generated and sent to all linked users. This report includes detected cookies, category assignments, and any cookies that may be set before consent is given. It also highlights actions required to maintain compliance.

Cookie database

The cookie database categorizes detected cookies and provides descriptions for their purpose. You can edit category assignments or descriptions in the dashboard by going to the Cookies tab for the selected domain.
